There is no difference in the IES syllabus 2019 compared to IES syllabus 2018. UPSC made major changes to IES pattern and ESE syllabus in the ESE exam 2017. Before that, the IES written exams were conducted in a single stage. Also, there were 3 objective papers: General Ability Test, specific Engineering Paper‐I and specific Engineering Paper‐II. In addition, the conventional papers were also conducted in the same stage. From ESE 2017, the new IES pattern has two ESE written stages as you know now!
