The Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for the recruitment of candidates for the Assistant Commandants post (Group A) in the Central Armed Police.
The Central Police Organization comprises of various forces as given below and the candidates would be recruited in any of the below given police organization.

The recruitment of candidates for the CAPF (AC) is based on the Written Exam, Physical Standards/Physical Efficient Tests and Medical Standards Tests, and interview/personality test.

Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination Scheme/Plan
The questions in this paper will be of Objective (Multiple Answer) types and the questions are set in English as well as Hindi.
The Paper II consists question on Precis Writing, Comprehension and Essay. Candidates can opt to write Essay part of this paper in English or Hindi while the other parts of the paper like the Precis Writing, Comprehension Components, and other communications/language skills should be answered only in English.
Note:
Candidates who are declared qualified in the written examination will be summoned for Physical Standards/Physical Efficient Tests and Medical Standards Tests. Candidates who meet the mentioned Physical Standards will be allowed to take the Physical Efficiency Tests as indicated below.

Note:
Candidates who are declared qualified in the Medical Standards Test will be called for the Interview/Personality Test which will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Candidates allowed to appear before the “Review Medical Board” after appealing the Appellate Authority are also called for the Interview/Personality Test for the time being.
The final rank or merit list will be drawn based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination and Interview/Personality Test.

The Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) is conducted by the UPSC in three stages and they are stage I – written; stage II – PET; and stage III – Interview/Personality Test
The Syllabi for the Stage I – the written part of the Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination is as mentioned below.
The paper I questions on general ability and intelligence is of objective type with multiple choices and covers broadly the following areas.
Part-A Essay questions which are to be answered in long narrative form either in Hindi or English totaling 80 Marks.
The indicative topics are modern Indian history especially of the freedom struggle, geography, polity and economy, knowledge of security and human rights issues, and analytical ability.
Note:
Part-B Comprehension, précis writing, other communications/language skills – to be attempted in English only (Marks 120) The topics are Comprehension passages, précis writing, developing counter arguments, simple grammar and other aspects of language testing.
The UPSC conducts the CAPF AC exam for the recruitment of candidates for the Assistant Commandants post in BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the exam dates for the Central Armed Police Forces (ACs) Examination, 2018 in their tentative Exam Calendar. The UPSC CAPF (AC) Exam, 2018 Notification will be released on 25th April 2018.
This year i.e. for 2018 the total number of vacancies is expected be approximately 500 odd in the Central Armed Police Forces. As per the UPSC 2018 Tentative Annual Calendar the notification for CAPF (AC) 2018 Notification will be released on 25th April 2018 and the exam will be conducted on 12th August 2018.
