UPSC has released the CAPF Exam notification on 18.08.2020 in the commission’s official website. CAPF Exam is a perfect opportunity for candidates aspiring to protect rights and laws in society. Candidates selected through the UPSC CAPF exam will join any one of the 7 armed police forces.        

There are 209 CAPF vacancies available.  The selected candidates will serve as Assistant commandants in these police forces. So, these exams are also called assistant commandant exams. 07.09.2020 is the last date to apply for the CAPF exam. UPSC scheduled CAPF written exam on  20th December, 2020.

CAPF AC Exam Eligibility

CAPF Age Limits: 

The Minimum Age limit for CAPF exam is 20 years and maximum CAPF age limit is 24. However, UPSC will provide age relaxations for a selected category of candidates. The Age relaxation for CAPF exam as per UPSC Norms:    

Education Qualification

The educational qualification required to take up the CAPF exam is a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. The commission will not consider the marks, percentage or the discipline of your degree.   

Candidates who are pursuing the final year of their degree completion are also eligible. However, they have to provide the proof of passing their degree at the time of physical efficiency test.      

Gender: 

Both Male and Female candidates are eligible for CAPF exam.

CAPF Exam Procedure:

The CAPF exam will be conducted in three stages;

CAPF Written exam:  

It is an objective type exam conducted in a single day. The candidates clearing the CAPF written stage of exam will qualify for the next stage.

Paper 2 General Studies, Essay and Comprehension: 200 3 Hrs

CAPF Physical Efficiency Tests (PET)

In this candidates will go through the medical test and physical efficiency test.

Long Jump 3.5 meters (3 Chances given) 3.0 meters (3 Chances given)
Shot Put (7.26 Kgs) 4.5 Meters

 

CAPF Interview

Candidates clearing the CAPF written and PET will qualify for the CAPF interview process.   

CAPF Personality test (Interview) 150 Marks
Total 600 Marks

 

Now , check out the procedure to apply for UPSC CAPF Exam 2020,

  • The CAPF online application form will be available at UPSC official website. Candidates have to visit www.upsc.gov.in to apply for CAPF.
  • At the UPSC web portal, select the ‘Apply online’ tab. Next, choose ‘ online application for various exam’ tab.  There select ‘Central Armed Police Force Exam’, this will redirect to the CAPF application page. The UPSC ACs/ CAPF application form consists of two parts.
  • UPSC registration Part I: In the first part, you have to register yourself to UPSC website with your basic details. Here, be sure to provide an active email ID and Mobile number for the commission to contact you.
  • UPSC registration Part II: At this stage, you have to upload the scanned copy of your recent photograph and signature. Also, select the nearest exam center to attend the UPSC CAPF exam. Finally, the UPSC application process will complete with CAPF fee payment.
