Sahitya Academy Awards for 2018 Announced

Sahitya Academy announced its annual Awards in 24 languages. Seven books of poetry, six novels, three of literary criticism two of essays and six short stories have won the Sahitya Academy Awards, 2018. Himalai IAS Coaching Centre in Bangalore aims is to bring awareness about current affairs for the Civil Services Exam like IAS exam, KAS exam.

The award won for their collection of poetry include Paresh Narendra Kamat in Konkani, S Ramesan Nair in Malayalam, Dr Rama Kant Shukla in Sanskrit and Sananta Tanti in Assamese.

The Writers won the awards for their short stories include Mushtaq Ahmed Mushtaq in Kashmiri, Prof Bina Thakur in Maithili and Sanjib Chattopadhyay in Bengali,.
In the novel category awards for Inderjeet Kesar in Dogri, Anees Salim in English, Chitra Mudgal in Hindi.

The Academy said in a press release that on 29th January next year at New Delhi the awards will be presented at a roadshow function to be held during the Festival of Letters to the organized by Sahitya Akademi.

Mushtaq Ahmad Mushtaq an eminent short-story writer bagged the Award for his collection of short stories. Mushtaq Ahmad an Indian Information Service officer is presently posted as Head of the Regional News Unit at Radio Kashmir Srinagar.

In 2012 published collection of eighteen short stories, had earlier bagged the best book award in Kashmiri at the state level from State Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for the year 2014.
