president of India Delivered Lecture on “Australai & India as Knowledge Partners” at University of Melbourne

Ramnath kovind addressed on the 3rd-day visit of Australia that India and Australia as a knowledge partner. Knowledge between India and Australia rests on two pillars of Education corporation and scientific collaboration. and he noticed that most of the Indian students prefer Australia as the second largest Education sector. There are 85,000 Indian students are studying in various parts of Australia.

The Indian president also noticed that Education has chosen as the Flagship sector for Australia in “India economic strategy”.

Australia is the top five research partner for India. Research collaboration between  India and Australia is single in investment.

President praised the government of Victoria’s emphasis on trade and business with India. He appreciated Melbourne and Victoria for being welcoming of the Indian community and the Indian-origin diaspora. He said it was a matter of pride that the Indian diaspora is contributing strongly to the Victorian economy. The fund of Aus $10 million renewed on a commitment of India’s renewable energy programme and India’s initiative in setting up the International Solar Alliance.

A leader of the Opposition party of  Australia, and the leader of the Labor Party, Mr. Bill Shorten, called on President Kovind. The President thanked Mr. Shorten for the bipartisan support in Australia for good relations with India, and Mr. Shorten responded by calling India a priority for Australia.
