President of India inaugurates Apollo Super Speciality Hospital in Lucknow

The President emphasised the importance of quality and affordable healthcare in the country, and particularly in Uttar Pradesh. He pointed to the successes in meeting the challenges of traditional infectious and communicable diseases.In this context, the President said, the Ayushman Bharat programme, launched in 2018, will go a long way in providing medical cover, especially to underprivileged citizens.

The President said that quality health for everybody was a shared goal.. He expressed confidence that the Apollomedics Super Speciality Hospital would provide state-of-the-art medical care to the people of the state and the region at a reasonable cost.

PM launches “PM-KISAN” from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) from Gorakhpur. the first instalment of Rs 2,000 will be directly credited to the bank accounts of selected beneficiary farmers.

The Prime Minister also congratulated farmer families engaged in dairy farming, and fisheries, as they now have access to Kisan Credit Cards. the Prime Minister said that this day is etched in history, because the biggest scheme for farmers since independence.

About 12 crore farmers are expected to benefit from PM-KISAN. The Prime Minister said that through this scheme, Rs. 75,000 crore will be transferred to farmers’ accounts every year. He urged State Governments to send the lists of beneficiary farmers to the Union Government at the earliest, so that farmers can receive the benefit of this scheme in time.

Aero India 2019 draws to a close

Curtains came down on the Aero India – 2019 at Air Force Station Yelahanka in Bengaluru today. Having evolved over the years, the 12th edition of the event drew large crowd that bear testimony to the premier Air Show of Asia having come of age.

The highlights of this year’s show have been:

  • More than 600 Indian Companies and 200 Foreign Companies participated and witnessed the largest Air show of Asia.
  • The total area of the show has developed from 27,678 sq m to 28,398 sq m this year.
  • A total of 61 aircraft participated in the event.
  • Several seminars were conducted by a host of agencies including Ministry of Civil Aviation, Skill Development Ministry, State Governments and Industrial Associations in addition to Ministry of Defence.

Recommendations of the 33rd GST Council meeting

Real estate sector is one of the largest contributors to the national GDP and provides employment opportunity to large numbers of people. There are reports of slowdown in the sector and low off-take of under-construction houses which needs to be addressed. To boost the residential segment of the real estate sector, following recommendations were made by the GST Council in its 33rd meeting held on 24th Feb 2019.

The decisions of the GST Council have been presented in this note in simple language for easy understanding.  The same would be given effect to through Gazette notifications/ circulars which alone shall have force of law. The new rate shall become applicable from 1st of April, 2019.

MSME Ministry’s First Conclave on Empowering Marginalised Sections’ Women Entrepreneurs  in Mumbai

The first of its kind conclave endeavours to empower women entrepreneurs from marginalised sections and enable their growth   and success in business by offering substantial knowledge on various business opportunities and national best practices in doing business.  The conclave is being organized under National SC-ST Hub initiative of the MSME ministry which is targeted towards developing a supportive ecosystem towards SC/ST entrepreneurs.

Minister of State for MSME (IC) Shri Giriraj Singh will inaugurate the Conclave. Path-breaking women entrepreneurs and inspirational women achievers  will be awarded with Enterprising Women of the Year 2018 Awards.
