Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to inaugurate high-level segment meeting on 9th September

  • The 12-days (COP14) 14th Conference of Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) starts today at Greater Noida, India Expo Centre & Mart. 
  • ” Shri Javadekar also stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will initiate the high-level segment gathering on 9th September 2019.
  • The UNCCD is a worldwide agreement on nice land management. It supports people, societies and nations to create wealth, and secure enough food and water energy and grow economies.

Civil Aviation Sector will Be the Driver of Our Economy: Hardeep Singh Puri

  • The Ministry of Civil Aviation, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, inaugurated Delhi Air Traffic Service Complex (DATS- Complex). For the purpose of that to make the Civil Aviation Sector be the driver of the Indian Economy this organized. 
  • Especially, this is the tallest Air Traffic Control tower at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. 
  • DATS-Complex significant aspects are provisions for 33 towers, Internet protocol-based voice communication system, IP based automatic message switching system, etc.

Index of Eight Core Industries (Base: 2011-12=100) July 2019

  •  The Index of Eight Core Industries (base: 2011-12) July 2019 has published. That is about the production of Coal, Crude oil, Natural gas, Refinery Products, Fertilizers, Steel production, Cement production, Electricity generation.
  • The Industries consists of  40.27 percent of the weight of items included in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP).
  • Subsequently, in July 2019, the combined Index of Eight Core Industries stood at 131.9. Before it was 2.1 percent higher as compared to the index of July 2018.  From April to July, its cumulative growth was 3.0 percent 2019-20.

Joint Naval Annual Quality Conclave (JNAQC)

  • Under the supervision of  Director General Quality Assurance (DGQA), the Ministry of Defence, the Joint Naval Annual Quality Conclave (JNAQC) will host. This will be on September 5, 2019, in Vishakhapatnam. The theme for this is ‘Transformation of QA Paradigm: Opportunities and Challenges’.
  • Further, for the annual event Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Naval Command will be the Chief Guest.
  • According to plan, Conclave will provide a vibrant environment for stimulating discussions on all aspects pertaining to the Transformation of QA Paradigm

Naval Phase of Defence Correspondents Course 2019 completes at Mumbai

  • The Navy and Coast Guard leg of 2019 edition of the Defence Correspondent Course(DCC) concluded. On 31 August 2019,  at Mumbai, course completed. 
  • The Maritime Warfare Centre(Mumbai) coordinated the course, Western Naval Command conducted.
  • For the purpose of teaching journalists about naval operations and their significance, the course was conducted. Also,  in the long run, to make a group of journalists who understands the Armed Forces.

CBDT consolidates Circulars for ease of compliance of Start-ups

  • The Ministry of Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman conveyed the message in order to provide a hassle-free tax environment to the Start-ups. This was in General Budget Speech, 2019, and also on 23rd August 2019.
  • The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), issued various circulars/clarifications to give effect to these announcements.
  • The present circular highlights the points such as Simplification of the process of assessment of Start-ups, Time limit for Completion of pending assessments of Start-ups, etc.
