New Restructured Railway Board to focus on providing better services to its customers: Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, Chairman, Railway Board

  • Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav says the idea of restructuring the Railway Board is to provide better services to passengers and freight customers.
  • Consequently, the aim is also to unify all eight services of Indian Railways into one service namely the Indian Railways Management Service.
  • Also, the Indian Railway is aiming to run trains at 160 kmph on Kolkata-Delhi and Delhi-Mumbai corridor.

172 competent persons qualified for Inspection and Certification of Boilers

  • Especially, self-certification and third-party inspection and certification of boilers are permitted by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
  • 172 CPs (Competent Persons) are qualified for Inspection and Certification of Boilers, on the basis of the 5th examination. 
  • Besides, to provide safety of life and property from the danger of explosion of boilers Boilers Act was introduced.

ECI reviews poll preparedness for Delhi Legislative Assembly Election 2020

  • Chief Election Commissioner Sh. Sunil Arora, Election Commissioners Sh. Ashok Lavasa and Sh. Sushil Chandra reviewed poll preparedness for Delhi Assembly Elections at ECI Headquarters, Delhi.
  • Further, The Commission directs to ensure the provision of assured minimum facilities with more than 6 polling booths.
  • During the meeting with Chief Secretary, Pr. Secretary (Home) and Commissioner of Police Delhi, request to ensure overall supervision and coordination for smooth and peaceful conduct of Election.
