Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 550th Birth Anniversary Celebrations at Sultanpur Lodhi
Shri Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, attended the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The event was on November 12, 2019, at Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala, Punjab.
While speaking on the occasion, the President greeted all fellow citizens in India and abroad on the auspicious occasion of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji tried to free people from caste and creed and ritualism by teaching them lessons of equality, brotherhood, kindness and morality, the President conveyed.
The Vice President condoles the demise of Shri T.N. Seshan
Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice President has condoled the demise of former Chief Election Commissioner Shri T.N. Seshan.
To strengthen the foundations of Indian Parliament System, he was credited with initiating wide-ranging electoral reforms, the Vice President conveyed.
During the year 1990-96, he was one of India’s foremost institution builders and turned the Model Code of Conduct into a powerful instrument as the Chief Election Commissioner.
Curtain Raiser – HADR Exercise TIGER TRIUMPH to Commence at Visakhapatnam
In agreement with the partnership between India and the US, the maiden India US joint Tri services Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Exercise. The Exercise namely ‘TIGER TRIUMPH’ scheduled on the Eastern seaboard from 13 to 21st November 2019. To develop interoperability for conducting HADR operations.
Particularly in the exercise, Indian Naval ships Jalashwa, Airavat and Sandhayak, Indian Army troops from 19 Madras and 7 Guards, and Indian Air Force MI-17 helicopters and Rapid Action Medical Team (RAMT) would be participating.
Further, the Exercise would conclude with a Closing Ceremony aboard US Naval Ship Germantown on 21 Nov 19.
Department of Rural Development decides to institutionalize social audits in major schemes; To hold National Seminar on Social Audit of RD Programmes on 13-14 November to assess current status & develop roll-out plan.
Chiefly, the Department of Rural Development decided to formalize social audits in major schemes of Rural Development. By starting with NSAP and PMAY-G.
Also, a two-day ‘National Seminar on Social Audit of Rural Development Programmes’ is organising at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 13th and 14th November 2019.
Jointly, the event by the Department of Rural Development and National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. To understand the current status of social audits and Social Audit Units. Subsequently, to develop a plan for the rollout of social audit in other programmes.
“Creation of UT of J&K and Ladakh historic opened the floodgates of development and progress in the region”: Dr Jitendra Singh
The Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (I/C) Dr Jitendra Singh conveyed that the historic step of creating the two Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir. Also, Ladakh has opened the floodgates of development and progress in the region.
