IES Prelims Exam 2019!

Union Public Service Commission is conducting much anticipated Engineering service (prelims) exam 2019 on 06.01.2019.

Engineering service exam (ESE) is conducted for recruiting young aspirants for Indian Engineering services (IES).  Many engineers, with the wish of joining the IES and building India’s tomorrow take up the Engineering Service Exam (ESE).  This year was same with, numerous engineers applying for engineering service exam 2019.

The UPSC notification for the Engineering service exam 2019 came out at the month September 2018. There 581 IES vacancies in engineering service exam 2019.  The IES application process ended in October.

Engineering service exam is an annual process conducted in three stages: ESE Prelims, ESE Mains & ESE Interview. UPSC has scheduled IES prelims 2019 on 6.01.2019 and released the IES prelims 2019 admit card on 12th December 2019.

The IES 2019 admit card can be download until the IES prelims 2019 exam date. Admit card is essential for attending the exam, downloading the admit card in prior will be wise. Carry your photo identity to the exam center along with your IES admit card.

IES prelims consists of two paper: General studies and specific engineering subject.  General Studies and Engineering Aptitude subject checks your general knowledge, logical and reasoning ability. The specific engineering subject will be based on your selection of engineering discipline. Which can be Civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Electronics and telecommunication.

The commission will conduct both of IES prelims paper in a single day, which will be in Morning and afternoon sessions. The IES prelims questions will of objective or MCQ in nature. General studies consists of 100 MCQ’s and Specific question paper will have 150 MCQ’s with 2 marks for each question.

  • Be ready with things you need to carry for the exam center
  • Revise the things you have learned
  • Keep a calm and fresh mind before the exam
  • Don’t carry any mobile phone or any electronic devices inside the exam hall
  • Avoid answering doubtful questions to prevent negative marking
