UPSC Combine Defense Service examination 2018
UPSC has released an official notification for the recruitment for various post of combined defense services (CDS). This exam is conducted twice a year for recruitment of candidates for Military Academies like Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. The CDS recruitment is done through a competitive examination conducted by UPSC.

For Air Force Academy- 2 Years Age relaxation for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India). Married candidates above 25 years are eligible but no extra facilities will be provided for accommodation.
CDS Education Qualification

Fixed Stipend for cadet Training: -Stipend to Gentlemen or Lady Cadets during the
entire duration of training in Service academies is Level 10 Pay Rs 56,100/-p.m.
CDS Exam Pattern:
There are two stages in the exam, written and interview.
- The CDS stage 1 written examination details is given below
- For Admission to Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy-
- For Admission to Officers’ Training Academy –
- All the papers will be objective type
- There will negative marking
- Calculators are not allowed
- Interview is called for the candidates who clear the stage 1 of written examination. It is conducted to check the personality and other caliber of the candidates.
CDS Exam Fees
Candidates have to pay an application Fee of Rs 200/- at the nearest SBI branch or through net banking.
All Female and ST/SC candidates are exempted of application Fee.
