Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojna Accepted by the ESIC to Provide Cash when Job Loss

The ESI Corporation took Some Very important decision towards improvements in its Service and benefits as the 175th meeting was held on 19th September 2018 in New Delhi under the Chairmanship of Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar and the Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment(I/c) This Decisions were made there itself.

When considered changes in the employment pattern and the current scenarios of employment in India, which has been transformed from long term employment to fixed short term engagement in the contract and temping form for the insured person (IP) which is covered under the employees state insurance act 1948. The ” Atal Bimit Vyakti kalyan yojna” scheme is approved by the ESI corporation

THe benefits of this scheme, the relief payable in cash can be directly done to their bank account,. In case unemployment eligibility conditions application format etc.., will be issued separately.

Reimbursement of Rs 10 per person is also approved by the ESI to encourage the seeding of Aadhar (UID) in ESIC data base of their worker and their families. ESI corporation also approved the proposal avelling super speciality treatment which has been relaxed when considered to earlier. the insurable employment of 2 years to 6 moths the contribution would be of only 7 day for the dependents of the insured person. Now the relaxation of the insurable employment of 1 year with 156 days of contributions, this relaxation will provide the beneficiaries and help the insured person with super speciality treatment with free of cost as per revised eligibility.

The proposal of increasing the funeral expenses from existing Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 is also been approved by the ESI corporation on the death of the insured person

Shri Heera Lal Samariya, Secretary, Labour and Employment, ESI Corporation Members representing, Members of Parliament, Employees’ & Employers’ Federation/Association representatives of State Governments and Senior officials of the Ministry made there presences for the meeting.
