Atal Bhujal Yojana (ATAL JAL) launched under Rohtang Pass 

• Atal Bhujal Yojana (ATAL JAL) launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on the birth anniversary of  Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
• Consequently, launched the big project named the Strategic Tunnel under Rohtang Pass after  Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
• The Rohtang Tunnel connects Manali, Himachal Pradesh with Leh, Ladakh and Jammu Kashmir, Especially.

Operational Guidelines  released for the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission

• Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi  released the Operational Guidelines on the occasion of Good Governance Day for the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission.
• Also, on 13th August 2019 Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) approved by the Union Cabinet to provide Functional Household Tap Connection.
• Before, five regional workshops organized by the Government in different regions north, east, west, south and north-eastern.

PIB (25/12/2019): UPSC Current affairs to prepare for UPSC Exam

Creation of the post of four-star general.

• The Chief of Defence Staff will also head the Department of Military Affairs (DMA), within the Ministry of Defence and function as its Secretary.
• The Chief of Defence Staff also acts as Principal Military Adviser to Raksha Mantri on all tri-Services matters.
• Further, The three Chiefs will continue to advise Raksha Mantri on matters exclusively concerning their respective Services. 

Strategic Tunnel to be renamed after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee

• PM Narendra Modi decides to honor the contribution of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee by naming the Strategic Tunnel under Rohtang Pass on December 25, 2019.
• The 8.8-kilometer-long tunnel is the world’s longest tunnel above an altitude of 3,000 meters. 
• Further, this tunnel reduces the distance between Manali and Leh by 46 kilometers and save crores of rupees in transport costs.
