  • Shri M Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice President stated that the abrogation of Article 370, an internal matter. Further, split the state into two union territories is to ensure the overall development of both Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
  • Calls for reforming the multilateral system and institutions to better reflect contemporary global realities.
  • While addressing the delegation of more than 25 members of the European Parliament in New Delhi on 28th Oct 2019.

PM’s statement before his departure for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

  • Shri.Narendra Modi, Prime Minister visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for a day’s official visit on 29 October 2019. During the visit, the agreement for the establishment of the Strategic Partnership Council will elevate the India-Saudi Arabia partnership to a new level.
  • In particular, the visit is at the invitation of His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, King of Saudi Arabia. Specifically, for attending the Plenary Session of the 3rd Future Investment Initiative Forum being held in Riyadh. 
  • PM conveyed that he will hold bilateral discussions with His Majesty the King of Saudi Arabia. Also, will meet and discuss with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, HRH Mohammed bin Salman.

 ECI will introduce postal ballot paper for Absentee voters of essential services

  • Election Commission of India has decided to facilitate the process of the postal ballot paper for Absentee voters of essential services.
  • This initiative will facilitate Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and senior citizens more than 80 years of age to participate in the Electoral Process.
  • Senior citizens and PwD electors can vote either as absentee voters or as a regular voter on the poll day.

Joint Exercise SHAKTI – 2019

  •  French Army troops arrived in India on 26 October 2019 for training with Indian Troops. This joint exercise between French Army troops and Indian Troops.
  • Exercise SHAKTI will focus on Counter-Terrorism operations in the backdrop of semi-desert terrain under the United Nations Mandate.
  • The exercise aims at enhancing understanding, cooperation, and interaction between the two Armies.
