Himalai Celebrating 20th-year celebration, on this eve Himalai extending helping hands to the UPSC-IAS Aspirants of June 2018.

Most important exam oriented Current Affairs Concepts:

1.GSLV-MKIII

It is heaviest rocket. It will put four tones satellites in Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit. A geosynchronous / geostationary transfer orbit (GTO) is an elliptical orbit, with an apogee (high point) of 35,784 kilometers, a perigee (low point) of a few hundred km, and an inclination roughly equal to the latitude of the launch site, into which a spacecraft is initially placed before being transferred to a geosynchronous or geostationary orbit.

2. Parker Solar Probe

It is satellite launched by NASA. It will study sun‘s outer atmosphere. The atmosphere of the sun is composed of several layers, mainly the photosphere, the chromosphere and the corona. The lowest layer of the sun’s atmosphere is the photosphere. It is about 300 miles (500 kilometers) thick. This layer is where the sun’s energy is released as light. Because of the distance from the sun to Earth, light reaches our planet in about eight minutes the next layer is the chromosphere. The chromosphere emits a reddish glow as super-heated hydrogen burns off. But the red rim can only be seen during a total solar eclipse. At other times, light from the chromosphere is usually too weak to be seen against the brighter photosphere. The third layer of the sun’s atmosphere is the corona. It can only be seen during a total solar eclipse as well. It appears as white streamers or plumes of ionized gas that flow outward into space. Temperatures in the sun’s corona can get as high as 3.5 million degrees Fahrenheit (2 million degrees Celsius). As the gases cool, they become the solar wind.

3. Astana summit

Astana is in Kazakistan. In this summit both India and Pakistan became member of Shangai Cooperation Organisation. The SCO comprises eight member states, namely the Republic of India, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People’s Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan; The SCO’s main goals are as follows: strengthening mutual trust and neighborliness among the member states; promoting their effective cooperation in politics, trade, the economy, research, technology and culture, as well as in education, energy, transport, tourism, environmental protection, and other areas; making joint efforts to maintain and ensure peace, security and stability in the region; and moving towards the establishment of a democratic, fair and rational new international political and economic order.

4. Rosatom and Kudankulam

ROSATOM is one of the largest companies of the Russian Federation It brings together nuclear power and power engineering assets, as well as NPP design and construction. ROSATOM is the largest electricity generating company in Russia. ROSATOM produces annually approximately.

3,000 tons of uranium production abroad excluded. ROSATOM with its 1/3 world market share takes the lead in global uranium enrichment services and covers 17.7% of the global nuclear fuel market. ROSTAM helping construction of third stage Kundakulam project. Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant is the single largest nuclear power station in India, situated in the Tirunalveli district of the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

5. Paris Agreement: essential elements

The Paris Agreement‘s aim is to strengthen the global response to the threat of climate change by keeping a global temperature rise this century well below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels and to pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase even further to 1.5 degrees Celsius. Note: Donald Trump has held that deal was not enough on India and China. Trump said it was unfair to USA. He said United States with draw from Paris agreement.

6. Prithvi II missile

Surface to Surface Ballistic Missile Prithvi-II has a range of 350 Kms. Prithvi-II is inducted into Army and launch was carried out as part of Army Exercise under the command of SFC. Taken from routine production lot, the Missile is launched with an improved Aided Inertial Navigation and achieved high degree accuracy, i.e., CEP. The missile has the features to deceive any Anti Ballistic Missiles.

7. AmbuSens

Ambusens capable of wireless monitoring of various physiological parameters like ECG, heart-rate, temperature and blood-pressure. It can be fitted in an ambulance to ensure remote monitoring of patient condition by the doctors even before they reach the hospital. The web interface of the Ambushes system provides an easy-to-use graphical interface for doctors and paramedics alike with data visualization tools such as real-time ECG graph rendering, and can be accessed from internet-enabled laptops, tablets and smart phones. It developed by IIT, Karagpur.

8. Neutron Star

Neutron stars comprise one of the possible evolutionary end-points of high mass stars. Once the core of the star has completely burned to iron, energy production stops and the core rapidly collapses, squeezing electrons and protons together to form neutrons and neutrinos. The neutrinos easily escape the contracting core but the neutrons pack closer together until their density is equivalent to that of an atomic nucleus. At this point, the neutrons occupy the smallest space possible (in a similar fashion to the electrons in a white dwarf) and, if the core is less than about 3 solar masses, they exert a pressure which is capable of supporting a star. For masses larger than this, even the pressure of neutrons cannot support the star against gravity and it collapses into a stellar black hole. A star supported by neutron degeneracy pressure is known as a ‗neutron star‘Note: NASA is to launch first ever mission to study neutron stars.

9. National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005

An Act to provide for the enhancement of livelihood security of the households in rural areas of the country by providing at least one hundred days of guaranteed wage employment in every financial year to every household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work and for matters connected there with or incidental thereto.

10. Habibganj Railway Station

Habibganj Railway Station is a railway station in Bhopal City and part of the West Central Railway.[1] It is located in Habibganj, New Bhopal. It is India‘s first private railway station.
